... still living simply

My first Project 365 journey, 'Live Simply So That Others May Simply Live', documented from April 7, 2010 to April 6, 2011. After taking a couple of months off I have decided to continue my Project 365 blog for another year. I am entitling this year '... still living simply'.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you will stay a while and enjoy!

Day 334 - March 6, 2011

Woohoo! Today marks our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of geocaching!! It's hard for me to believe but I think it is an awesome milestone. :-) Though there was snow last year as we found the Vietnam Memorial cache (GCRKQY) - our first! - the weather was not this bad!
It was snowing quite heavily - a wet, heavy snow - so it was hard to keep our eyes open as we searched. But alas, Christie came up with the find outside of Tap and Mallet!
The cache we found is GC2M9T5: Are You Pink Enough? WTF! (yes, that is the actual name... ha!) This cache is part of a series that pokes fun at another series of local caches... long story...
As you can see, we were quite cold and snowy after getting this cache, but we just had to find at least one to commemorate our anniversary! We are now up to 203 and have a goal of finding 500 by the end of the year. We can totally do it! This white stuff just needs to disappear so we can get back out and at 'em!
In the evening Christie had a training for a few hours so I finally gave my friend Turtle (from AmeriCorps) a call so we could get caught up (for about 2 1/2 hours!). It was good to hear of all the new and exciting developments in her life. She's definitely one of those friends I don't get to talk with often but think about a lot.
:-)
