My first Project 365 journey, 'Live Simply So That Others May Simply Live', documented from April 7, 2010 to April 6, 2011. After taking a couple of months off I have decided to continue my Project 365 blog for another year. I am entitling this year '... still living simply'.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you will stay a while and enjoy!

Day 324 - February 24, 2011

Tonight Christie and I went to Sol Burrito for dinner and chowed down on our favorite: tofu tacos! They are seriously delicious, so I highly recommend getting on down to Monroe Ave. and getting yourself a couple!
But first... earlier in the day my co-workers surprised me with a little birthday celebration. I just happened to come out of my office in the afternoon and everyone was gathered around our meeting table. Our volunteer, Jim, was there, as well as Tony, a good friend of mine and resident at the hospital, our cleaning lady Jane, and then my other co-workers from the area of the agency in which I work. We shared a sweet treat together and they also gave me a few gifts. I've never really been surprised like that!
(Below) Wine from my favorite winery, Montezuma...
Truffles from Jim (our volunteer)...
And a gift card to Lori's... can you tell they know me pretty well?!
In the evening Christie gave me my birthday gifts a little early since we *thought* we would be traveling to Albany tomorrow (the unexpected snowstorm ruined our plans). She wanted me to have my gifts so that I had the weekend to play with them. Isn't her wrapping beautiful?!
She got me a nookCOLOR from Barnes and Noble!! For those of you who do not know, the nookCOLOR is an e-reader and also has Internet capability. Now I can read books, magazines, newspapers... all electronically! Christie also got me a protective (faux leather) cover that has a great quote on it. < Choose an author as you choose a friend. -Sir Christopher Wren > I'm pretty excited about everything!
Here's an actual photo of the nookCOLOR... pretty neat, huh??
