... still living simply

My first Project 365 journey, 'Live Simply So That Others May Simply Live', documented from April 7, 2010 to April 6, 2011. After taking a couple of months off I have decided to continue my Project 365 blog for another year. I am entitling this year '... still living simply'.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you will stay a while and enjoy!

Day 272 - January 3, 2011

Upon my return from vacation, I found this sweet card and box of candies in my mailslot from Sarah, a friend and resident at the hospital where I work. I was so tickled since it was such a sweet gesture!
In the evening I decided to be bold and try something new! I had never made quinoa before and, after having it at a few restaurants and reading about how easy it is to prepare, I thought I would give it a go! Turns out, it really is easy to make! It is also neat to look at...
...and photograph...
...and stir...
...and photograph some more!
I sauteed up some veggies to go with it -

- and also re-heated some of the left-over Christmas Tofurky that I had frozen.

I love the curly Qs of quinoa!

I put everything together and added some walnuts for a little more protein.
Delicious!
And...still fun to photograph. :)
Mmm!

  1. You two make such great food! Bob made Quinoa for us one time when they were here. Susan said he's come a long way in his eating!

Thanks for the great card, and for sharing your photography!
