... still living simply

My first Project 365 journey, 'Live Simply So That Others May Simply Live', documented from April 7, 2010 to April 6, 2011. After taking a couple of months off I have decided to continue my Project 365 blog for another year. I am entitling this year '... still living simply'.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you will stay a while and enjoy!

Day 249 - December 11, 2010

2011 Christmas decorating is under way!

And now, a few of my favorite ornaments...
(Above) A Hallmark ornament from my parents, given to Christie and me last year (2010).
From our NYC trip to visit Susan and to see Tegan and Sara, October 2010. (We bought this in the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens with Susan.)
A handmade photo ornament I made (with instructions from Photojojo). This is a photo of leaves cut up and put back together!
A recycled saxophone from the equivalent of One World Goods (I can't remember the name of the store!) in New Haven, CT - to commemorate our CT trip in October of this year.
Another handmade ornament that I made last year - this one (you can probably guess!) is a photo of lilacs cut up and then put back together.
A New York City ornament from our October 2010 trip!
From our time in Mystic, CT in October of this year...
Another ornament from the store in CT where we got the saxophone. This kitty represents Sarilla, the black cat who graces the property of Farm Sanctuary and warmly welcomed us with open paws!
Our tree topper...
Recognize that cutie hanging from the star...? Gotta have a little fun! ;)

My beloved Irish Christmas tree - a gift from my parents a few years ago.

(Above and below: close-up of the base of the tree.)

Christie and I went to the mall and were relieved to not be part of the frenzied masses buying gifts and wrangling children. Instead we bought a few gifts, sat on the bench, people-watched, and pretended to feed the pretend reindeer. We got a few looks but, hey, that was the point. :)
